First created in 1984 after a chance meeting between Jane Birkin and Hermès chairman Jean-Louis Dumas, the Birkin has become the ultimate collector’s handbag. The Cargo version adds utilitarian canvas pockets for a fresh, functional twist. The bag is made from Swift calfskin, a smooth, fine-grained leather that takes colour beautifully. It is finished with palladium hardware for a polished contrast.
